Collection of pics of Class 87s awaiting export

87 022 was due to work a farewell special for the Class 87's from Birmingham International to Glasgow and return on 29/12/07...but due to some dodgy West Coast Railways Mk2's the tour was eventually caped after unsuccesfully trying to recharge 4 coaches with a ECS run.

57 304 on 18/10/07 was engaged on route learning duties from Wolverhampton to Central Rivers & Burton, here are 11 pics taken during the day.

8 x 87s are ready for departure and will shortly be leaving Oxley after a year's stay for Long Marston.
They will be moved in 2 batches x 4.
1st Batch 87 013, 014, 010, 004.

Recently it appears the years of threat hanging over Wolverhampton Low Level Stn has come home to roost. The station is being gutted and turned into Retail/housing outlets, hope to feature regular updates here.

37 425 jacked on 6W49 @ Wellington, assistance came from 66 181. The line was blocked for around 2 1/2 hours.

Most of these pictures have been taken in Oxley Yard (PLEASE NOTE: Oxley Yard is a secure location with NO public access & Trespass is taken seriously & WILL lead to prosecution).
It's been difficult to keep tabs on who is responsible for various AC traction in Oxley so they have been grouped here.

The following took place at Kinver on 2/3rd July and was attended by many locos (battery powered). The event was sponsored by Phoenix Locos(see website address right), the event raised money for Guide dogs for the blind.

On 23/09/03 a group of us descended on Cwmbran after hearing a friend had finished his new "O" gauge layout and immediatly setting up a diesel gala.Over 20 locos took part including classes 08,20,33,35,37,40,45,50,Kestrel,Warship,D61xx.

This is a series of shots featuring 47 787 & 47 798 that were in Shropsire on Thursday 10th & Friday 11th July on the royal train when the Queen came to Telford + associated empty stock workings. The headcode throughout all moves was 1Z03, moves featured were:
1. Euston to Telford (Queen on board)
2. Telford to Wellington (ECS)
3. Wellington to Oxley (ECS)
4. Oxley to Ludlow (ECS)
5. Hereford to Wolverton (ECS)<p>
The next move was 21/07/04 1Z04 Euston to Llandrindod Wells and return ECS to Wolverton with 67 005 & 67 006.
